Leestar, GKs can't use Drop Pods, sorry. Only DS and Landraiders.

Fluff-wise, do Guard use drop-pods, in any form?
I could swear they did (Eisenhorn novels), but I didn't know if they were anything like those utilised by Marines. |

The templates I have bear no markings, specifically because of that. While they are approximately the same size as a GW drop pod, they are different enough not to fall under copyright laws. I want to keep Forge World and GW in business so they can keep making new models. Pollo, Unfortunately, I don't believe so. The Guard specializes in massive groups of men and equipment, with very few elites (who have the training to take advantage of the small numbers that arrive by drop pod). Even the Elysium Drop Troops use grav chutes instead of drop pods.

Grav-Chutes and large dropships are more common in an IG army.
A Drop Pod just cannot carry enough Imperial Guardsmen downwards to make a difference in combat. The 10-14 men a drop pod can carry down just isn't enough to make using the drop pod worthwhile. Drop ships, on the otherhand, can easily carry a small platoon or more into combat, and, they can go up and down, so they have multiple uses, and can carry for more then just one trip.
