TAU XVHB 208 SHARK*
(Heavy Battle Suit) PTS* * * * *WS* * BS* * S* * T W* * *I* * *A* * *S 250* * * * * 2* * * *3* * *8* * 5 3* * *2* * *2* * *3+/4+inv. ARMOR AND EQUIPMENT: -The Shark is basically two Broadsides made into one. -The Shark is twice as tall as a Crisis Suit and counts as a Special Character taken under a heavy weapons choice. It Can only be used when special characters are allowed. -The Shark has a Shield Generator a Multi Tracker and a Target lock built in*and a special Drone Controller, which controls 4 Gun Drones or Shield Drones-At*standard statistics. (Add 40 pts for Shield Drones.) -Drones form their own unit and are programmed to protect the Shark at all costs. WEAPONS: -Do to the larger, Heavier Battle Suit frame the Shark can move and fire heavy weapons. It can also carry much stronger weapons and more ammunition. 1. Burst Cannon* * * * * * * * * 18”Range* * *Str 5* * * AP5* * Shoots* * *8 Linked 2. Missiles* * * * * * * * * * * * * *36”Range* * *Str 7* * *AP4* * *Shoots* * *4 Heavy 3. Twin Linked Rail Gun* * *72”Range* * *Str10* * AP1* * *Shoots* * *1 Linked NOTE: Smart Missiles may be used* instead of Missiles with there standard statistics Note: No submunition rounds. MOVEMENT: -The Shark can move up to 6“ and fire all weapons in movement phase. And may move another 6 inches int he assault turn. Forward or backwards and does not have to move 6" to get into an assault. ASSAULTING: -The Battle Suit is considered a Monstrous Creature in an assault against a vehicle. -If the Battle Suit assaults it attacks at its Strength 8+2D6 against vehicles. -The Suit is too big and bulky to pursue after an assault and must hold it’s ground. DAMAGE: -Once all Drones a destroyed then wounds are taken from the suit. Normal save applies. The save is for it being based off of the rules for a scout titan.
And for it being so large it gets a save without making its armour to think it sort of gets both. May seem weird but its like Scout Titans and Titans when they get 4 void shields this gets a 4+ save. Sort of think of a Titan thats what I thought of. Just not as big. Thats all. Thanks for looking and checking it out.

It's ok. But for Tau it is far too nast in cc. Why strength 10 +2d6? 10 is the maximum, so the extra d6's will have no effect. So it's strenth 10 and ignores armour saves!? Even the Eldar Revenant Titan isn't that viscious in hand to hand. ;D

Mixing vehicle and infantry rules are a bit confusing... I'd suggest you make it one or the other.

The 2d6 plus strength is so he can attack str 14 tanks because of its size.
I am not great at writing rules so I was triing to be different. So thats why I posted them to ask for help.

looks cool......Make it avehicle or infantry as suggested by wargamer... I'd go for vehicle though because then you can at least say it's the weight of the thing thast makes it effective in combat.... the fire warrior certainly aint the reason!

the VDR rules also have no rules what so ever for a Walker so does that mean that Tau have to get rid of all there Crisis and Battle Suits. I dont think so. Just because its not out doesn't mean you cant make it up. If you dont like it then just like anything VDR then just say no I dont want to play it. As far as Tau go. They have the best Shields Known to any Race. Again what do you mean no shields? Shoot they have a single man that can take a shield with them? Suits can and on and on? So Sheilds are fine but I see what you mean and how I should make them Shield drones and not void etc. I see your points but I dont think you can say they dont have something when they actaully do have alot of walkers? Every suit is a Walker? I get that alot and its your feeling so you shouldnt make walkers for your Tau army me I will. I posted these rules for help with them because I am not that great with rules and becasue all rules need to be checked out so I asked for the input but I personally think Tau wouldn't or Its not in VDR. That doesn't matter here. How to fix or improve whats broke is whats important. To many times on this site I have seen people speak of there personal feelings as if they where facts set in stone and that the person who showed his femal Tau was wrong for it. I think that is wrong and I cant help but see that here. Thats to bad. Thanks again everyone for the feedback. Hope you did not take this as a rant just me making an observation.
