Nice heavy gunship!

Only real problem I can see is I'm going to confuse it with my Dogfish rules... :-[

Like the Gunship idea, but it's too small to be a heavy combat vehicle and a troop transport. Weight isn't the only limiting factor for such a vehicle...

Sorry about the Dogfish name.
I will change it.
What could I call it?

Wargamer?
The Razorback is a transporter fighter that has to carry ammo. Alot of ammo.
These are energy weapons and can get there weapon froma any energy source so those 4 engines I bet produce enough energy for 2 Ion cannons.

The troop capacity would not be a full 12 man team I was thinking about the Razorback and aabout a 40% ratio for the weapons so having 8 men should be fair.

Its like a mini Orca.

But It should be fine to move the gunner and all his gear outside the ship to openup some room inside and allow 8 men.

He its in the VDR for troop transport so I threw it in.

I called it heavy because of its size and the 4 engines and 2 Ions make it huge so thats why I said hevy and so people dont think I am going to make it a fast skimmer!!!

So cool thanks for the input and feedback.

Hmm, I can't think of any names for it, but I like the model. How about the ability to mount shield drones somewhere or making it an orbital lander?

To be fair, the Rhino is built to carry 10 warriors, each 7' tall and wearing some damn-bulky armour. Now GW tells us that the Razorback's turret doesn't block the rear access hatch, so it can't take up that much room. This we accept.

However, we're talking Ion Cannons here, not Heavy Bolters. All Razorback weapons are, by Imperial standards, compact. You can quite happily mount them on a Sentinel. Ion Cannons need power sources... big ones!

Engines on flyers tend to produce power to fly. Believe me, it takes a lot of energy to make a VToL thruster work. If anything, you'd need to dedicate more space to engines to make the thrusters go!
Next is the extra ammo. The only weapon with "infinite" ammo currently listed in 40K is the Volcano Cannon, and that's because they use a Super-Heavy engine to power it. Even then, it drains the capacitor in a single shot, and you have to recharge the capacitor, making the engines useless.

Finally, let's think about armour. You need to put more armour on to protect the extra engines. This increases weight. Then there's the bigger turret and extra gun... more weight. So we need a bigger reactor to power the ship... so there's less space inside.

To summarise:

The Hammerhead can't carry troops. This builds of the Hammerhead chassis, so it can't carry troops either.

Ok think I got it.

What if it was built off the Devil fish chassis... j/k...

How about a name?

Great White?

Mako? I kinda like that one.

Or, with its bulky, somewhat ungainly appearance... The Bullhead. Yah...
