What did you use to make it?

Need rules making for those things? If you do, I'll gladly take up the challenge.

Thank you glad you like them.
I just* thought them up but I really like them also.

M'yen'Kauyon
Just wanted a heavy weapon to use with my Firewarriors.
They are weaker than humans and use drones to do there work.

So I just came up with it.

The legs are from the Necron Tomb spider legs.
Get two of the spider legs.. 2 of the spider legs
They bend and they work as 4 Crayfish legs.
They will be your 2 front and 2 back legs.

Use a piece of cut off sprue to space the legs apart.
Bend the legs to look as if hes
walking.

Then Glue the drone onto the piece of bit by its gun piece with no guns on it.

Cut the jets off the Drone and add a piece of plastic sprue as the weapons support arm.
Stick it up and out at about a 45 degree angle.

Glue what ever weapon you want onto the arm.
Glue the carbines underneath

Thats about it.
Thats really about it.

(sorry it took so long to answer this... :-[)

Wargamer
Shure if you want to I would love to see some rules for them.
I use them as drones with a plus 1 toughness for the legs and then what ever weapon he shoots is it.
And yes they have a sucky BS of 2 but hey there cheap.
And I take the jet packs off of course.
But if you want to help me out with some actual written rules and good ones not the stuff I make up? Then yes please.
Thank You.

Well, here's my take on them:

Cost Ws Bs S T W I A Ld Sv
Crayfish 25 2 3 3 3 1 4 1 7 4+
Squad: 1-3 Crayfish may be taken as a Fast Attack choice.
Weapons: TL Pulse Carbine, Smart Missile System, Tau Jet Pack.
Options: TL Pulse Carbine may be replaced by a Shield Generator at +5pts, or a Missile Pod at +4pts.
Smart Missile System may be replaced by a Crayfish Railgun at +5pts.
SPECIAL RULES:
AI: Crayfish are highly intelligent drones, more so than standard Drone units. Their Leadership is worked out as if they were a normal unit.
Crayfish Railgun: Range: 48" Str: 8 Ap: 3 Type: Heavy 1.

Not bad.
I like them alot and they seem not only good but fair.
Great job.

But I have to ask you to change one or two things.

I cut off the jetpacks.
There are no vents or jets on them anymore.
So no fast and no jetpack rules.. sorry.

Also the Railgun is good except its still alot larger than a pathfinders rail gun.
I would go 48 9 and 2 something like that and raise the points.

Hows that? Can that work?
I dont know what the points would be without the jetpack rules.

The rest is cool I will try them with those rules and see what happens?

Well the Pathfinder Railgun is Str 6 (or thereabouts), and has shorter range, so this one is better.

As for Jetpacks... well, I personally picture these things leaping around like the spiders in Eight-Legged Freaks (lousy film, but still...). If that isn't a "jump pack" I don't know what is!

Cool.
Ok I dont have the Pathfinders with railsguns and had forgotten what they where?

So I guess it is better jsut less than other stuff....

8 legged freaks.. nope missed that one....

Plus thinking about it Tau still have anti grav and they would need that to fire and carry such heavy weapons so being anti grav walker is cool.
That works.

Thanks again.
