It'd run it fine The 8400 GS card is a fairly modern one, and although Oblivion is quite graphics heavy (especially at the higher graphics settings), the fact you can still run it with a 2 GHZ processor and a NVIDIA GeForce FX card does suggest that your computer would run it fine

To put things into perspective, my computer currently runs on:

Intel Pentium D 2.8 Ghz
2 GB RAM
Radeon x600

And it runs Oblivion without any trouble And your processor, RAM and graphics card are better than the 3 I quoted above.

I have the 8400GS with 128mb of VRAM in my laptop; never tried Oblivion but it can run things like America's Army and Eve Premium fine. Its a solid card, despite the low second number. If you can, though, try getting the GT, its a bit more powerful.

Those games are no where close to being as graphically intensive as oblivion. You will run it yes, just don't expect to be getting more then 30 fps ever. Especially do not turn on AA and such and if you don't care to much about resolution run it a smaller one. You can try the higher resolution with lower settings and it should run ok but wont look quite so nice

Anything over 60 FPS is nearly always wasted because of your monitor, and anything over 30 FPS is practically un-detectable. It will run it well enough, though going for the 8600 or something like that would be a good deal better.

Actually no, I'd say otherwise. 30 FPS is undetectable if its smooth/blended motion, i.e. the frames are blended together like a movie. For games it's really obvious when its not smooth... particular first-person shooters that I play. I'd say that its somewhere over 60fps for a computer game that any more becomes undetectable...
