Default Major Laptop Problem

Okay, my school computer (IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T60) bluescreened and went to reboot; nothing too scary.

However, it started giving off some kind of echoing, repetitive warning beeps. It appears to be booting up normally, but I was scared enough by the noises to turn it off immediately.

Any ideas what it could be?

Are they loud beeps? That almost sounds like what happened to me when I was building my desktop a couple years ago... got the hard drive in, tested it... and got a sort of quiet beeping and clicking from the HDD.

Had to sent to stupid thing back and buy another one.

Got your user manual? It'll tell you what each beepcode means.

I'm deadly serious when I ask this; you weren't leaning on a bunch of keys or anything like that, were you?

Because the only think I can think of that would cause something like that is a buffer overload...

Timjim: How am I supposed to go about cleaning a laptop, without opening the case and voiding my warrenty? :

All-Father: It sounded like the digital equivilant of a wounded animal scream; not loud, but clearly not good.

GeekyGator: School computer, no documentation .

LGT: If it was actually that simple, I wouldn't have posted for the shame of it :P.

Hmm... Go to Lenovo's website, and see if they offer on-line documentation. I know all the docs for all dell computers are online for free.

Well hey, some people just don't know about these things. I doubt anybody would be complaining if it were that simple. :P

I barely know enough to plug in my hardware, never mind fix it. I was just tossing around ideas.

Couldn't get anywhere with their site, unfortunately.

LGT: I know the buffer overload beep well enough from pounding my hands on the keyboard in frustration . Thanks for the idea though.

What's your computer's make, model, and OS? I assume you went to the manuals section and it didn't give you anything?
