Beating a Mech Army

So, one of my friends just loves to run an Imperial Guard Mech list. He uses lots of tanks. Usually a Lemman Russ, a Basalisk, and several Chimera's. He also uses a Valkarie. I play Chaos Daemons and i was wondering what good units are for taking down his dang tanks. Right now I have a relatively small army consisting of:

1 soulgrinder
1 bloodcrusher
1 masque
10 bloodletters
10 daemonettes
10 plaguebearers
3 bases nurglings

I'm curious as to what units I should think about adding. He's also gonna start Tyranids soon so stuff to take out a carnifex would be good too. Thanks for any help.

Bloodthirsters have enough attacks and is high enough strength to tear apart most vehicles. To kill light vehicles, use daemon princes and heralds with bolt of tzeench. Fiends of slaanesh also put the hurt on walkers and vehicles less than a Land Raider or Monolith. Unfortunately daemons don't have a lot of tools to blow up vehicles with shooting.

Aside from psychic powers, using high toughness creatures with good strength is the best way for demons to take out vehicles. The high toughness will allow you to ignore a good deal of all that instant dealt the guard can pump out and the strength will let you tear vehicles apart.

All Daemons have the Eternal Warrior USR and the only vehicle they have is the Soulgrinder which has a good 13/13/10 AV.

Bloodcrushers on the charge have S6, so they have a good chance of getting through enemy armour, and if you give them rending, the chance increases. And, if you stick a Herald of Khorne on a Juggernaut, again with Rending, your chances increase further

This is good to know, thank you.

With this new knowledge... Bring the biggest baddest stuff you have, only bring as many troops as necessary and cut loose. Also remember to spread out as much as possible.

Screamers are Basically meltabombs attached to jetbikes. Perhaps not a bad tank destroyer, however, not sure how they may compete with other fast attack choices or how cost prohibitive they are. The Daemon Player at my LGS uses monstrous creatures to kill tanks. Hes very aggressive with his deepstrikes, so can nab tanks very quickly. Normally he has two Greater Daemons and a couple of Daemon princes.

heres an idea; go with a khorne herald and give him a charriot. ^^ and put him with a few chrushers....that would terrify your oppoment

Re: Beating a Mech Army

however, putting him in a chariot forces the Herald to lose his Independent Character rule, so he can't join the 'Crushers, making him easy to target

Re: Beating a Mech Army

hmmmm...good point. I asked the two daemon players at my local gw and one (mixed god army) said he just uses the soul grinder and he cleans up with a prince or blood thirster.

the second (pansy tzeench army) just keeps zapping them.

hope this helps
