They are the things that goes inside a Chaos Space Marine and possesses them to become Possessed. Basically Daemons are demons, but instead of hell they comeout from the warp.

Chaos daemons are the minions of the dark gods themselves!! They have little to do with Chaos Marines and are instead forms forged from the very stuff of the warp itself.

They aren't friendly to chaos marines anymore since csm can't take them as allies....
Other then that I think daemons are a weak army that only has one strong build. Khorne daemons aren't that great except for bloodcrushers which are awesome but all they can do is cc so you need them supported. I think tzeentch is the only one that has a competitive army that is fluffy with kairo the fateweaver.

You can take them as allies e.g: lesser and greater daemons. >:D

The Daemons in the Chaos daemon codex have better equipment and profiles.

They aren't Allies - only an entry in the codex. Performance wise the daemons in the Chaos Marine codex are pale shadows when compared to the ones available in the daemons codex.

First things First: Please stop spamming. 90% of your posts have consisted of a single line, it's against the rules. I'll give you a while to clean up your act before I step in.

An ally would be something along the lines of the Witch Hunters / Daemon Hunters Codexes: able to take a few units from the books to use for an army on the same side. Ie - take some battle sisters to fight along side Imperial guardsmen.

Chaos daemons are no where near like that. They are a stand alone, isolated if you will, army. The Minor daemons in the Chaos Space Marine codex are nothing more than a nod of the head to the previous list where the likes of daemonettes and bloodletters could be taken in the same list.

Now they have been seperated and the background, model range and army list expanded for the daemons.

Thank you silk for finally adressing the issue that I wished to be answered for the benefit of all....

Now ((pretend I'm the noob again)), What is the difference in terms of play between Daemons and CSM? Are nurgle daemons super-tough? Are Khorne Daemons CC machines? Are there Iron warriors daemons that can launch volleys of fire at the enemy? etc.
