Heya. Thinking about starting a new army (effectively my third finished 40k army, but about my 4th time starting a chaos army since 3rd ed) based around traitor battle sisters "The Brides of Fulgrim".
And before you say anything - checked with the store that I usually play at and I got the Okay for the "counts as" nature of this army. On with the show. -HQ- Chaos Lord: Mark of Tzeench, daemon weapon, daemonic steed = 175 points. -TROOPS- 10 Noise Marines: 8 Have Sonic blasters, 1 has a blastmaster, Champion with power weapon, doom siren = 285 points. 10 Noise Marines: 8 Have Sonic blasters, 1 has a blastmaster, Champion with power weapon, doom siren = 285 points. 10 Noise Marines: 8 Have Sonic blasters, 1 has a blastmaster, Champion with power weapon, doom siren = 285 points. -Heavy Support- Chaos land raider: Havoc Launcher = 235 points Chaos land raider: Havoc Launcher = 235 points Points = 1500 |

How do you envision the army playing? It seems a bit convoluted to me but I am no tactical genius myself so I could be just missing the point. Two squads in Raiders, one squad foot slogging, and a lord running around on a steed. I'd want the lord in one of the Raiders if I could.
Also, the blastmasters are awesome, I love them in my Noise Marine squad... but my squad is intended to sit still and drop that ap3 template (which to me is the strength of that weapon and the only reason to drop 40 pts on it). But going in the Raiders I'd drop it since you probably won't be using the heavy profile. For fluff/fun - you might consider either dropping to six man or moving up to 12 man squads. (if you are using slaanesh in the army background and not just for 'counts as' ![]() The havoc launchers seem like overkill on those Raiders too. |

Revised and expanded the list to 2000 points:
-HQ- Chaos Lord: Mark of Tzeench, daemon weapon, daemonic steed = 175 points Chaos Sorcerer: Warptime, doom bolt, mark of tzeench, daemonic steed = 190 points -TROOPS- 5 Noise Marines: Champion with power weapon and sonic blaster, 1 has blast master, 4 have sonic blasters = 185 points 5 Noise Marines: Champion with power weapon and sonic blaster, 1 has blast master, 4 have sonic blasters = 185 points 5 Noise Marines: Champion with power weapon and sonic blaster, 1 has blast master, 4 have sonic blasters = 185 points 5 Noise Marines: Champion with power weapon and sonic blaster, 1 has blast master, 4 have sonic blasters = 185 points 5 Noise Marines: Champion with power weapon and sonic blaster, 1 has blast master, 4 have sonic blasters = 185 points 5 Noise Marines: Champion with power weapon and sonic blaster, 1 has blast master, 4 have sonic blasters = 185 points -HEAVY SUPPORT- Land raider: Havoc launcher = 235 Land raider: Havoc launcher = 235 TOTAL = 1975 points The plan is to deploy the noise marine squads in pairs, dividing their firepower for lesser threats, but combining them for larger ones. A large assaulting unit such as Orks will be tempted to charge both units anyways, so theres less assault loss, and a smaller assault unit, such as assault marines, will have to face a dug in unit and an Initiative 5 power weapon. The Land raiders will be the primary tank hunting units, with the blastmasters targetting any transports, I don't face much in the way of Armour at the local store so it shouldn't be a big challenge to deal with. If there aren't any tanks then the Raiders will be used as transports for one or two squads to go and capture objectives, whilst the other girls hold the deployment zone. Both the Lord and the sorcerer will fly around tackling threats where ever they present themselves in my own lines, or just simply going hunting if im not under pressure. |
