Default Mech Death Guard 2000 pts list

I am about to have a game with an Imperial Guard player, but we decided that we are to use our 'all-comers' list. I have a list,but I am not too sure about its effectiveness.

So without further ado, here is my 200pts list

HQ

Even though the list is okay, but I think it can be improved somehow.

ok, i have never faced guard so what im gonna tell you is what is generally good. some things might be wrong (but i believe never to sew your army for what you will face, but rather be ready for it all!).

demon princes looks fine. warptime usually pays off.

the plague marine squads look a bit expensive. I would remove dozer and extra armor from all your rhinos because if rhino is shot at, you usually dont get away with crew stunned and if you do, you can just jump out.
and the dozer... well i dont play with alot of difficult terrain so i dont know...

raptors looks fine. perhaps this is were you want to throw in an extra man if you cut something.

the predators i dont like.
heavy bolter and lascannon is not a good combination...
if you shoot at infantry, the lascannon will be a waste. and shoot at tanks and bolters cant do anything.
i'd say either you change the turret to autocannon and we have a powerful infantry killer, or you field the same predator as i do: turret autocannon, las sponsons. effective against harder targets and only 130 pts.
perhaps you want 1 with bolters/auto and 1 with auto/las ?

oblits... cant complain about them :P

i love the HQ.

keep them together and thrash hordes of guardsmen.

Remember he'll probably take some captains with power fists, so any extra shooting you can throw up at him will help your Greater Demons.



DEFINATLY GET SMOKE LAUNCHERS
he's imperial guard
he's got 2+ordnance pies every turn!
get some smoke launchers so your rhinos can make it into some strong positions.

I'd gear your Raptors up for Tankhunting. As tempting as a first turn flameing can be, you need to get those big tanks down fast so it's just you and a bunch of soft squishy guardsmen.

I dont really like the preditor setup either
but if your tanks are already put together that way then there isnt much you can do eh?

i'd go with Las - las las
and Auto - hb hb

but thats just because i love the "YOU ANTI TANK, YOU ANTI INF" simplicity.

Rhino's now come with smoke launchers and searchlights as standard!
