[Fire_Warrior 032]

Hey guys.
Upon the release of our new codex, I really wanted to try some things out (mainly, Nurgles). I had been toying with the idea of an all-Nurgle army since I first saw the codex, so I decided to try a small, short 500 point match with them.

Here was my list:

The map was very small, with very few pieces of terrain or cover. The game was quite quick, also.

Tau won first turn, and I'll just say that after shooting absolutely everything at me, all they ended up doing was killing 1 Plague Marine.

On my turn, I moved everything up, and the only thing I was able to shoot was the Stealth Suits with my third Plague Marine squad - killing all 3.

On the Tau second turn, all that happened this time was 2 wounds on my Daemon Prince.

On my second turn, my Daemon Prince assaulted the Tau commander, wounding it twice, and taking no wounds (surprise! :P) in return CC.
My first and second Plague Marine squads shot at the Kroot squad with their Bolter Pistols before assaulting into combat - needless to say all the kroot were killed.

On the Tau third turn, the Fire Warriors were in rapid fire range but still only managed to kill one Plague Marine.
The HQ and Crisis Suit had some better luck, and managed to fully kill my Daemon Prince.

On my third turn, the first Plague Marine squad assaulted the fire warriors, killing them all in the Sweeping Advance.
The second Plague Marine squad rapid fired at the Shas'el, wounding him 8 times! Needless to say, pwned
The third Plague Marine squad assaulted the Crisis Suit, killing it as well.

The tau only had 1 squad of Fire Warriors left, and we just stopped playing because it was ~80 points vs. ~300 points.

Well, I really love my Plague Marines now. They were able to stand up to massive fire from the Tau, I only lost 2 marines in the entire game from the repeated Pulse Rifle fire.
I wasn't sure whether Wings were worth it on a Daemon Prince, but I like how they worked for me this game and I think I'll keep them.

It was a fun game, and I can't wait to see how my Nurgle army will do when I take it up to 1,000.

Wow, the Plague marines seem quite tough! good match..I may need to add a squad of these plague marines of Nurgle to my army.

Well, since your opponent has to roll 4 dice just to kill you (to hit, to wound, armor save, feel no pain), and each of these rolls are quite considerable (really high toughness, great save, good feel no pain) you can just imagine how hard they're gonna be to finally crack open.
And you'd expect something like that would have Slow & Purposeful, but I'm quite glad they don't

entire units of berzerkers could NEVER have feel no pain, it was a common rules misconception.

I would bet a cookie (of your choice) the the tau would mop up a similar chaos list if it were khorn-y. The tau list was well thought out (minus the kroot : - pulse rifle points that could have kill maybe one more PM!) and with basically 2 armor saves AND toughness 'X'... Yikes!

But the quickness of the berzerkers I don't think would eliviate the difference of the plaguy goodness! ;D
