Default Space Marines Battles Novels

I just finished reading through 'Helsreach' and 'Rynn's World' and I have to say I have had mixed feelings. On the one hand, the books have such amazing awesome potential, and indeed have some particularly epic momments.
One being Cortez the Immortal ripping out an Ork Warboss's spine!!!!
However in both books, I found the endings quite rushed and anticlimactic. I don't want to give it away for those who haven't read them, but that was a problem I found with them. Don't get me wrong, I found them thoroughly enjoyable and they had some fantastic cliche space marine badassness, which is exactly what I want from a book like 'Helsreach' and 'Rynn's World', It's just that I thought they really had potential to be a bit more climactic and have some truly awesome moments.

Has anyone else read them? What do you think? Like I said, I found them great books and really helped me get through my 12 hours flying to the US, so don't take this as me saying they're crap.

Helsreach really suffered for that. It's kind of like GW turned to the author and said "the Codex says Grimaldus did this. Put it in. Put it in now!"
