Default Warrior brood anyone?

I've just finishing reading my first black library book- warrior brood by C.S Goto. It was brilliant and I'm just wondering if any of you have read it as well.

I especially liked the battle in the adeptus mechanicus block with the mantis warriors and the deathwatch vs 'nids...

I'm looking for the sequal, does anyone know what it's called.

Thanks,

Scar.

..

*falls down twitching*

G-g-goto? Why!

[hr]

Sequal is called Warrior Coven and I think it has the *gulp* eldar in it.

Congratulations, btw. You're the first person I've ever known who can read goto novels without their eyes ripping themselves from your head and commiting suicide to save themselves.

I agree with Naieth I do not think Goto is a decent writter for the black library. Definatly can not compare to Dan Abnett for example.

I myself also love the eldar, and yet I could not get through Goto's title of Eldar prophecy. Now it sits in a box and will not be.

In summary! 'Nids good, Goto bad!

Ok- if Goto's bad and I enjoyed that I can't wait to read more black library books..

That do you guys recommend to get me into black library? (not guants ghosts yet as i'll need all of them)

What books does Dan Abnett write?
Why is Goto actually a bad writer?

Thanks

scar.

Check out Dan Abnetts inquisitor series of books he wrote around inquisitor Eisenhorn, or one of my personal favorites, Gileads blood (Its a warhammer fantasy book but is amazing imo.)

I also enjoy the works of William King the first part of the Grotrek and Felix saga. You may want to give those a shot as well!

*edited*

I enjoyed the novel Nightbringer, written by Ghram Mcneil, I liked it but I think I have a bit of a biased opinion on the army.

Are there any books that evolve around a large battle?

Some of the Guants Ghosts are large, and if you like space look into Execution Hour/Shadow Point by Gordon Remmie IIRC hard to get hold of but very good.

Goto is terrible writer of 40k. As for books, my personal favorite is one of Abnett's latest, Iron Snakes. It's a great marine book and is the only astartes book that isn't about a founding chapter that I like.

Then again, just about everything Abnett writes is pure gold. :P

Actually Abnett's latest work is Titanicus which I'm reading atm and is pretty good so far.

Graham McNielle wrote the Ultramarines series and that was trash.

However the Space Wolf Novels (especially the first 4), the book Farseer, the Ravenor Series, the first four Horus Heresy novels, Fifteen Hours is pretty good, the Ciaphis Cain series is absolutely hilarious and there are other gems.

Goto, McNiell and Swallow are three of the biggest to avoid, their works tend to be either badly written, horribly inaccurate or both.
