Only part of Fulgrim that really hooked me was the Dropsite Massacre, other than that I found it quite a poor book that wasn't up to the quality of the others.

Warning Fulgrim spoilers ahead!!!

Fulgrim was a good book, but some things about it really irked me. I hated the way that Fulgrim killed an Avatar by strangling it. It's an incarnation of the wrath of an entire craftworld with skin made of iron and blood made of molten metal, I'm pretty sure it doesn't need oxygen to survive.

And then there was the way that throughout the entire book the Iron Hands got the bad end of the stick. It was the Iron Hands that had to be rescued by the Children, Manus lost to Fulgrim in combat twice and the Children's first captain killed the Hands 1st Captian. It don't even particularly like the Iron Hands but it would have been nice if they had won something in the book. I at least think that the Iron Hands 1st Captain should have won against the Children's, at least that would make up for the death of Manus because honestly the book felt far too slanted against him and his legion.

The bad guys were on a roll.

More spoilers*

I also didn't like how Fulgrim took out a Wraithlord and then an Avatar, Demon sword or not! By the end of the book I was waiting for the Children to suffer some blow, and after Fulgrim killed Ferrus and then got all "what have I done?!" I was just thinking: "you're not getting any sympathy from me!!!!!!". Thank God he didn't kill himself, because that in my eyes would have been the easy way out. I'm content with the demon ending, though I would have preferred him to have gotten his butt handed to him by...anyone. Oh well.

Oh, and it made me sad how all the "artist" died ):. I forget their names now because it;s been awhile, but the sculptor and his girlfriend who started going crazy.

Remember that Firebird, Fulgrim's flagship with him on it, was saved by the Fist of Iron, Ferrus' flagship, in the diasporex battle. The book is called Fulgrim, so maybe just maybe it centers on the triumphs (or follies) of the Emperor's Children.

Well, killing a Wrathlord should be easy as a PRIMARCH. I did feel sorry for him, though, when he kill Ferrus, they were sworn brothers which makes me feel sorry, as their friendship was strong. The sculptor and artist were Ostian Delafour (the sculptor) and Serena De'Angeles (the artist).

Yes but weren't the Emperor's Children only in that battle because apparently the Iron Hands couldn't hack it, It's been a while but I could have sworn thats why they were there.

And to your second point that's no excuse for the horrible treatment of Manus, I don't care if the book is mainly about Fulgrim, everything that happened is still the fluff for Manus as well and it might as well have just said "yeah, by the way we forgot to tell you that the Iron Hands are shit, just thought we'd throw that in there"

Yeah, yeah, but the point does remain. The book isn't about the Iron hands...

I love Ferrus Manus myself, 'cause he's Iron Man .
