All of the Horus Heresy books, as they are a great read about one of the most important events in the entire 40k timeline.

Indeed.
Gaunt's Ghosts are a fantastic series. The second best I ever read. I also must agree with the Heresy series, but I have a problem with the different writing styles of the different writers. The job should have been issued to Dan Abnett alone. Also, the series of Commissar Cain is great. I has the extra punch and humor many of the other series lack...beating off daemons with one hand and takes hold of cannonesses and inquisitors with the other. ^^ The absolute top favourite of mine is the Eisenhorn triology. There are no words good enough to describe those three books. Extremely tragic all in all, but a fantastic read. Another series which cannot be ignored is the Space Wolf series. Every book is quite good, and the newest one, which I finished last week, is a great addition to the series as a whole. But I have finished all these series now...exept of the last book of Gaunt's Ghosts. "The Armour of Contempt." I just cannot seem to get my hands on it. It is sold out in my local stores the very second a new batch arrive, and the waiting line is long ![]() Ah, well... I think I'll now give Ravenor a try. Even though I fear I would get just as depressed (in a good way) from that series, as I got from Eisenhorn. Dan Abnett is one of the greatest writers I have ever encountered, but the deep and dark style he writes in, and the fates of his characters are really tragic. And that is also the best part of the books he writes. You get, somehow, emotionally attached. |

ya i definitely agree with winter. Dan abnett is one of the greatest black library writers ever. and (though i can't mention names according to the rules) whenever a tanith (or verghast or belladon) ghost is killed you really feel sad and it actually seems like you knew them... weird.

Ravenor I found very interesting and a good read, specially since the same person who wrote the Eisenhorn trilogy wrote the Ravenor books. (DAN ABNETT RULES!?!?!)
And Space Wolf novels are good. |

Are there any novels about the Imperial Fists (at all) that anyone would recommend?
Also, would you recommend Goto's "Warrior ****" about the Deathwatch? Oh, and beside me agreeing with the Horus Heresy recomendation, I would like to add the Storm of Iron. Read it yesterday, impressed me.
