Default Uplifting Primer

Has anyone read it, what's it about? I'm thinking of getting it.

Yes, I know it's the guards rule of life, but book wise?

I would read it if I could find it.

But seriously, a Guardsman, I'm willing to bet, could a) outshoot me, b) give me the beating of my life, and c) shove more squad-based tactics down my throat than I'd ever care to digest. Guard are hard, hard men. Whether or not GW's inconsistent, Marine-worshipping fluff keeps with that, mkay?

Real men fight in tanks!

I own it... it's brilliant.

It is the exact book issued to the Guard. It is not a fluff-book like Index Astartes, or a "story" like Xenology... it is a real Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer.

It's compulsory owning for Guard players; losing your copy is a serious offence.

Except for a little box for cpyright reasons, the entire book reads as if it was printed in the 41st millenium. Its brilliant, theres so much detailed information on guardsmen. The book shows you just how much(or how little) the average Imp really knows about why he's fighting.
My favourite:
"When bayoneting a foe, thrust firmly into the chest or neck. To ensure the foe is dead repat the procedure several times"

I'm trying to find one, even though I don't play Guard.

I saw one briefly at GW, and had a brief look through it - it's very much like an actual primer (as Wargamer said, the exact book) - realistically looking like one, etc.

The prayers are very useful... and fun!

If ever you want a way to drive your opponent up the wall, recite prayers before all rolls.

The book is excellent. Not only does it give you general idea of the guard, it gives you some insight to how it works.
"Any soldier who fails to carry out an order given to him by a superior officer will be shot."
"Any soldier who tries to get his superior officer punished for unfair orders will be flogged in front of platoon by the officer in question, then shot. Officers are to be obeyd all the time."
(not exact quote, but something like that)

And, of course:
"Eldar craftmanship is inferior to ours."
and describing Genestealer "puny claws."

The book is half a joke, and the other half is a parody. Either way, it´s good buy if you can find one.

Don't own it, but have seen it.

"If at any time during travel through the Warp you feel odd, please report to your commissar immediately."

If I can get hold of a copy I will. Not a big book but definatly worth owning i think.
