HQ lord-resurrection orb, phase shifter 170 elites immortalsx6 168 immortalsx5 140 troops warriorsx10 180 warriorsx10 180 warriorsx10 180 warriorsx10 180 fast attack destroyersx3 150 wraithsx3 123 scarabs swarmsx10 with disruption fields 160 heavy support heavy destroyer 65 heavy destroyer 65 monolith 235 total necrons 60 phase out limit 15 models eldar list HQ autarch Nuadhu "fireheart" Cantar w bike, laser lance mandi blasters and fusion gun 140 farseer Maklan Cantar w doom, singing spear and runes of wittnessing 80 elites fire dragonsx5 210 wave serpent twin linked eml shuricannon fire dragonsx5 210 wave serpent twin linked eml shuricannon troops dire avengersx10 exarch bladestorm extra catapult wave serpent twin linked eml shuricannon dire avengersx10 exarch bladestorm extra catapult wave serpent twin linked eml shuricannon dire avengersx10 exarch bladestorm extra catapult wave serpent twin linked eml shuricannon fast attack shining spearsx5 212 exarch withdraw heavy support fire prism 115 fire prism 115 fire prism 115 mission type: annhiliation set up: pitched battle board. had a crashed gunship in the middle, with a destroyed tank of to one end. opposite the tank was a bilding and to the right of the tank was a large bunker. on the other side of the board to the right of the tank was a stone circle thing. in between the bunker and stone circle there was a second bunker. on the opposite side of the large bunker was a third bunker. there were several small building things scattered around. deployment: necrons go first: deploy his lord and two warrior squads between the tank and large bunker. the immortal squads were deployed on the large bunker. the monolith was deployed between the large and smaller bunkers along with a warrior squad and the wraiths. on top of the small bunker the two heavy destroyers were deployed. in between the bunker and the stone circle the destroyers and scarabs were deployed. eldar deployment: eldar start off-field. with all units 1st turn: necrons nothing 1st turn: eldar nothing 2nd turn: necrons movement: moves monolith towards the crashed gunship scarabs move onto a round building try to collapse a bunker in eldar deployment zone. do nothing 2nd turn: eldar movement: all reserves except 1 dragon wagon and a fire prism come on. the autarch and his spears move towards the lord and the warrior squads. fire prisms move onto the tops of buildings for better vision. 2 dire avenger serpents move to attack the heavy destroyers and normal destroyers. dire avengers with the farseer move to attack the monolith dragon wagon moves close to the immortals. shooting: fire prisms concentrate fire and weapon destroy the monolith. farseer misses the monolith (not for the first time as you'll see later) a dire avenger squad blade storms a heavy destroyer but fails to kill it. second dire avenger squad brings down a destroyer with a bladestorm. dragons take out 3 immortals. the 2 dire avenger transports bring down both heavy destroyers. the autarch and his squad shoot 2 warriors down. assault: the autarch and his squad multi charge the lord and the two warrior squads. the autarch and the exarch attack first killing 6 warriors. the normal spears kill another 3 between them. the lord attacks back hitting 2 times wounding 1 time. the autarch saved the wound on his power field. the remaining warriors wound the bikes 4 times. the normal bikers fail their 3 saves, with the autarch making his. the necrons lose by 6, needing a 4 on all 3 squads. all three fail and roll poorly for break off. (1, 1, 2 i think) all are cut down as they flee. the bikes consolidate 4 inches to near the tank. KP's necrons: 0 eldar: 5 turn 3: necrons WBB: 2 immortals get up movement: scarabs come down from the building. destroyers move up to the dire avengers. shooting: the monolith uses gauss flux arc and kills, 2 DA from squad 1, 3 DA from squad 2, stunned a wave serpent, killed 2 fire dragons,. 1st immortal squad kills the 3 remaining fire dragons 2nd immortal squad kills last normal spear leaving exarch and autarch. destroyers killed 2 of 1st DA squad, so do warriors in the stone circle, killing all but exarch. warriors near monoilth shoot DA squad 2 killing all but 1. assault: scarabs charge and kill last 2 DA out of squads 1 and 2 wraiths charge and wreck one of the wave serpents. KP's necrons: 3 eldar: 5 turn 3: eldar far seer casts doom on a squad of immortals. movement: 2nd dragon wagon comes on from reserves. 3rd fire prism does too. the dire avenger wave serpent moves onto a small bunker. the other DA wave serpent moves behind the bunker. the first dragon wagon tank shocks one immortal squad, doing nothing the second dragon wagon moves towards the scarabs, disgorging their contents. both fire prisms move closer to the scarabs. autarch and exarch of spears move towards the tank shocked immortal squad. shooting: remaining dire avenger squad blade stroms the wraiths killing all of them. (the farseer missed with his spear again > )fire dragons kill 5 scarab swarms thanks to instant death. 2 fire prisms combine fire and kill 2 warriors in the stone circle. the 3rd fire prism shoots a dispersed blast at the scarabs but scatter onto the warriors near the monolith killing 1. the three wave serpents near the small bunker combine fire to wipe out the remaining 2 destroyers. assault: the exarch and autarch barrel into combat. the immortals fail to kill wound. the autarch and exarch wipe out the squad. KP's necrons: 5 eldar: 8 turn 4: necrons WBB: the warrior near the monolith comes back. movement: scarabs move towards a fire prism. the warrior squad near the 'lith move toward the fire dragons. shooting: the warriors near the fire dragons shoot them killing 2. the immortals shoot at the last dire avenger squad killing 3. 'lith shot at the dire avengers, but scatters away. assault: the scarabs destroy the fire prisms cannon. turn 4: eldar farseer casts doom on immortal squad movement: autarch and exarch moves toward the last immortal squad. the damaged fire prism moves away from the scarabs. the fire dragons hop into their wagon. shooting: the autarch takes out an immortal with his fusion gun. the three wave serpents kill the remaining scarabs. assault: nothing. KP's necrons: 5 eldar: 9 turn 5: necrons WBB: the immortal gets up. movement: warrior squad moves towards the fire dragon wave serpent. shooting: the monolith shoots pie plate at the farseer squad but misses. the immortals shoot at the farseer squad a kill none. assault: none turn 5: eldar farseer casts doom on the immortals. movement: autarch moves towards the immortals. shooting: autarch and exarch kill nothing. dire avengers and farseer shoot the immortals. farseer misses (again) assault: the autarch and exarch wipe out the last immortals. END GAME... end of a really great match, with a fun opponent. score at the end was 10 to 5, a solid win for the eldar. Analysis: i think that my list performed rather well, apart from the dire avengers getting busted up good and proper in turn 3. the main killer in the entire game was the autarch and his entourage of spears. despite heavy (and unlucky) losses early in the game, they really pulled through, wiping out 5 squads in total all by themselves. the farseer was largely redundant as doom really didn't help all that much in the entire game, and he was an awful shot with his spear, missing all three times he used it. as for my opponents list i have no idea as i dont play necrons. if any one who does would like to comment on his selections that would be great.
