I played an armored company this weekend and lost badly thanks to some interesting rules I had never heard of can any one back these up the questions I have are surrounded by angry faces in the battle report
Deployment We are playing messengers bonus points for having all 3 messengers alive and having them in different table quarters and we set up in corners I put all my stuff on the board just throwing it on thinking were going to set up later my opponent walks up and says is that everything and asks for detail on my stuff I tell him being a good sport he then tells me he plays armored company I ask him what each tank has he says “they’ll hurt you” I press him for more details he doesn’t tell me alright fine I thought. He asks if that’s everything and I say yes he tells to me to roll I roll better he says alright you go first I ask him why he doesn’t have anything on the board well his stuff infiltrates hmm that would have been nice to know well he didn’t tell me that just throwing the stuff on the board was my actual deployment so my stuff is just pel mel arranged my kommandoes infiltrate on some terrain hoping to get back armor of a tank HQ Wazdakka gutsmek 180 troops 6 bikes 150 12 hard boys nob with pk in trukk with recking ball and reinforced ram 195 12 slugga boys nob with pk in trukk with recking ball 117 Elites 8 lootas 150 in battlewagon 5 kommandoes Fast attack 1 warbuggies w/ big shoota’s 30 Heavy support Battlewagon with 4 big shoota’s kannon 125 1222 Since he infiltrated his 5 tanks and a sentinel my trucks can’t assault with anything so they just run forward and hope that they ramshackle into a tank. Wazzdaka and bikes move forward and get side armor of a tank and blows it up. the rest of the bikes were in range of his messengers which were hiding in a bunker but I forgot to shoot them. My messengers run towards the side quatrants and my tanks kannon takes a pot shot at a tank and doesn’t do anything all game so I won’t mention it again. The loot’s can’t see anything that’s not armor of 14 so they are useless. 1st turn armored company the tanks blow up both trucks and the ensuing explosion only kills 1 from each the other tanks shoot at bike squad and my battlewagon doing nothing to the battle wagon and killing all bikes but 2. 2nd turn orks Wazzdaka moves forward with bikes which I remember to shoot at messengers killing 1 and half combining fire power with warbuggie. Wazzdaka manages to miss entirely all 4 shots. My trukk boys are pinned out in the open. Kommandoes move out of cover towards nearest tank 2nd turn armored company His tanks reduce my squads to 5 hard boys and 5 slugga boys and kill wazzdaka and remaining warbikes. One of his tanks spins and backs up a half inch 3rd turn orks I fleet of foot something he didn’t expect so my slugga boys blew up the tank with the str 10 gun and my hard boys make it to the tank that spun and he says its and armored company rule that > e can fire ordinance if he moved under 6 inchs plus all his other weapons and it is 6s to hit the tank so my 5 str 10 attacks that would have easily blown up the tank only make it so it can’t shoot. That kind of lost me the game. :-[4-6 turns Kommandoes assault side armor, they could have gotten back armor but forgot they could move through cover next turn they assault back and immobilize and stun it. The hard boys and slugga boys get shot up and the kommandoes were hiding behind the tank they stunned but his other tank shoved it aside and gunned down commandoes than everything else just shot and battlewagon and buggie killing the buggie but never managing to kill the battlewagon the lootas got out somewhere in there and were killed but they stunned a tank’s side armor with my terrible luck. Final result was a pretty bad defeat but I probably would have won if I destroyed that tank I assaulted so can anyone back this up I looked up the armored company and didn’t see anything. Can anyone help

I can't verify that rule in question, but the guy sounds like a lousy git. I take it this was a game at the shop or something? I'd have asked him to show you the rule in any case.

it was a leage game that's what annoys me the most it meets every saturday so I am going to go there next week and ask for a rematch the guy organizing the tournement a great guy who knows alot about the game verified but he sometime confuses older edtion rules so I am going to go ask to see if there is any rules like this. did you look on the armored company rules on the GW main website I just wanted to have someone make sure I wasn't just missing it because I didn't want to see it.

If he moves six inches you hit him on fours, not sixes. For that to happen he must move over six inches, you've been cheated.

He can fire ordinance if he moved under 6 inchs plus all his other weapons and it is 6s to hit the tank so my 5 str 10 attacks that would have easily blown up the tank only make it so it can’t shoot.
Yes he can fire ord if he moved 6 or less (but it scatters more) but he cant use his other weapons If he move 6 or less you hit on 4+. more then 6 movement is hit on 6+ This is from the armored company PDF. keep in mind that there is an armored company in a chapter approved (2003 i think) that has more rules. i dont have it with me, but i dont remeber anything making you able to fire ord. and your guns. i think you've been cheated, but you should check.

Sounds like it was a tough game against a tricky opponent. But remember, Orks never loose (even when your opponent cheats).

Strike One: Since this is a league then I would say that an Armour Company List shouldn;t be allowedd since it is no longer GW approved for their tournaments.
Strike Two: Firing his ordanance all all other weapons when he moved less than 6" since he can only fire 1 ordance or his main gun and all defensive. Strike Three: Stating it takes 6 to hit when it only takes 4's. HES OUT!!! Lastly you said that he used his own tank to move one of his stunned ones...pretty sure he cannot do this either. |

But seriously, a Guardsman, I'm willing to bet, could a) outshoot me, b) give me the beating of my life, and c) shove more squad-based tactics down my throat than I'd ever care to digest. I saw that too and looked at the PDF for AC but didn;t find any doctrines that allow that but wasn't sure if there is any other doctrine in the normal IG codex (I don't own one). SOunds like STRIKE FOUR to me.
