Well, as Silk has stating, we're having what you may call an Orkoff. If you're going to be intimidated by a lot of green, a fair amount of orktalk, and an unhealthy dose of silliness, I suggest you leave now.
In any case...
We're both going to be converting, modelling, painting, and pretty much anything else there is to do for 1,000 points. While Silk doesn't quite have a set list yet, I do, and here it is. Mind you, this is based off of the Black Reach set - I only need to buy 20 more boyz and I'll have this entire army. I made the text smaller so that those of you not interested in the list can just skip it.

So that's my big bad list of greenskins, totaling at around 1003 points. I'll be working on this bit by bit as much as I can, and hopefully with the creation of this thread, this army will go by more smoothly than my other ones.
So let me start where silk left off.

That is perhaps even an understatement. Those of you who hang around chat probably have heard me talking about this ork army for quite some time, and until a day ago it was all just unorganized thoughts.
My ork army will be themed. It will be original, silly, and fun. Let me introduce...
The Mafiorks.
While I haven't quite worked out the fluff (and I really can't say I ever will, it's not the easiest concept to logically explain) my orks will be mostly based off of 1920's era mobsters. Tommy guns, fedoras, pinstripe suits and enormous cigars - the whole deal. It's gonna be a lot of fun, and hopefully it'll be enjoyable to watch as well, but it's also going to be by far the most challenging project I've taken on. I'll be learning along the way, and I'm always open to suggestions.

Again, probably a month or two into this (or maybe longer or shorter, depending on how long it takes for me to get a hang of this army) I'll be posting up some tutorials on how I do this or that - painting, converting, bases, whatever it is that people are interested in, I'll do my best.

If Silk and I can get our lazy bums off of Call of Duty 4 and start playing VASSAL or something similar, you may be getting some ork on ork battle reports later on. However, no promises - shooting stuff is generally more exciting than setting up a long VASSAL game when we're on different ends of the globe.
Anyway, posting a long post like this without pictures would make me die a little on the inside. So, I'm going to post my concept ork - this is my first one, so (especially the fedora) it could use some work, but this is pretty much what I have in mind.
Mind you, this is not only my first ork ever, but my first major greenstuff conversion. I would also like to add that
once I get some more supplies, there will be even more conversions. I plan on getting some plastic tubing to make the shoota a Tommy Gun, I plan on getting some plasticard and adding little trinkets here and there to add to the effect - he's not quite fully converted yet. However, this is as far as it's going to get for the next week or so until I can get out and get some more materials.
Edit: I'd like to add that this ork, and the next 2-3 orks, are old orks I had lying around, NOT the Black Reach orks. As such, these mostly had 1-2 layers of paint already on them, so they're slightly (but only slightly) thicker than normal. Some of them have mold lines in some places as well. Also, this is not what the Black Reach orks look like - I love the BR orks, but all of them have sluggas and choppas, there are absolutely NO shootas.
