Default The future of the 40k universe?

I was reading some fluff for each army and started thinking, whats the future of each army. Like the orks will keep being orks, for every one you kill two take it's place, dark eldar are basicly doomed unless something huge happens, eldar hasn't changed in many many centuries so they arn't changing any time soon. Necrons just woke up and are slowly spreading through the galexy and the remaining c'tan ( the space marine's machine god, and the outsider who basicly uses hive mind to ward off tyranids) might awaken. Space marines may get new vehicles, tyranids are still "hyper-evolving to meet their destiny" but we don't exactly know what their destiny is...As for chaos, they already took over a huge amount of humans and they may go for the only other species out there with a brain (tau, since orks are too dumb for it to work out but maybe). So my question is, what do you think will happen to each race/species in the 40k galexy as time passes on?

THe ultimate conclusion to 40k is either the end of man or the end of the universe.

The core rulebook has something of a timeline regarding that.

My theory is that Chaos somehow take over Tyranid making them even more threatening and Tau develop super weapons then start destroying everything.

Read Legion, and possibly the other Horus Heresy books (haven't read any besides Legion yet myself though), some clues there.

Anyway, for the near future, it's unlikely that much will change. GW would lose too many customers if races were killed of or one race became dominant (though of course the Tau will win)

Yeah, there will be a period after the fall of mankind, with lots of terrible chaos. and then the one race unaffacted by Chaos will eventually conquer the galaxy.

Unless of course another future occurs...

I suspect the Tau will almost certainly become the dominant power, and its seems that all the fluff has set them up for this to happen in the distant future after the fall of man. 15th edition maybe in the 61st century

We better watch out on this thread, just in case Wargamer comes along and starts his whole

"Tau are doomed, they are tiny, They are nothing compared to the guard" speech. :P

The only reason Orks would worship the Chaos Gods is that they're mistaken them for either Gork and Mork. Otherwise Orks generally think Gork and Mork are much stronger and tougher than the Chaos Gods.

If the Tyranid Hive Fleets so far really are just a vanguard, the Tyranids will scour the galaxy clean if the Necrons do not fully wake up to stop them. Chaos is only as strong as the strongest mortal powers that feed it. So it won't be very important if humanity and the Eldar in particular weren't around. The Tau will probably keep expanding, but it remains to be seen if their civilization can survive above a certain size, and with fewer and fewer Tau relative to the races they are taking in.

Khanaris, you forgotten another Power House that can compete with Tyranids and Necrons; Orks!
