Potentially not. Devastators are (supposedly) the least experienced Marines, so are in theory more prone to screwing up.

I'm aware of their order of skill (Scout -> Devestator -> Assault -> Tactical, correct? The rest is an obvious progression through Elite and possibly HQ choices). Still... I'd rather be moderately trained and have big guns, safe and snug on the friendly side of the battlefield than any of the others. Of course, I'm thinking of this from a human perspective. If I were actually a Space Marine, I probally wouldn't care either way, but that doesn't leave much room for an interesting topic.

Trust me, Devastors DON'T have a high life expectancy... usually, everything with Heavy weapons that isn't very mobile is a prime target for the enemy.

I'd be a Terminator. You get to be in the thick of action, shrugging off most enemy attacks, and dealing devastating damage in return. I'm probably even safer than a devastor, since my armour protects me better, I can't be targetted by most ranged weapons because I'm up to my visor in enemy troops, I'm more mobile (move AND shoot! w00t!), and I'm packing some serious firepower.

Yeah, definitely Terminator.

I'm surprised at the amount of scout votes, really. I figured I'd be the only one.

Terminators, I'd rather not be. Because of their armor and priveledged equipment, they have to take on the most dangerous missions. No thanks.

Truth be told, I wouldn't want to be a marine at all. Battle can be pretty glorious, sure, and the power to be an 8 foot tall metal behemoth is tempting to any modern human, but it's pretty boring doing nothing but eat and fight until you die, obeying your commanders, being mentally dominated and reshaped. I'd rather be a guardsman, and retain SOME degree of humanity, despite the 6 second rule.
