Default Cadian questions

1. Do Cadians only populate the Cadian system??? :/

2. How many regiments are successors of Cadians? Or are the Cadians split up into different regiments besides just the shock troops?? Like, can there be a Cadian Jungle Fighter regiment??

Well, Cadians only inhabit the Cadia systems - if they are brought somewhere else to live there, they are not Cadians anymore, but Catachans, Lyrran, Terrans, Martians, etc.

I don`t quite know what you mean with "successor"-regiments - don`t confuse Guard organisation with Marine history! A Guard regiment is raised on its homeplanet, given a name and number (i.e. "Cadian 215th"), then sent off into the galaxy. WHAT the regiment consists of is decided first, ie how many tanks there are, etc.
So, to answer your question, Cadian jungle fighters would most probably not be possible, since they don`t have any jungles where they come from. Catachan and the other Deathworlds are contributing in the regard to the Imperium. Likewise, Valhalla offers troops which specialize in arctic and mountain warfare, Tallarn desert warfare troops, etc.

Hope this helps...

In the IG codex it showed some pictures of different battle fatigue for the Cadian troops and one of them was something like tiger stalkers or some such and they looked pretty much like jungle fighters. The Cadian are shipped across the galaxy to fight so they would have to be trained to fight in all forms of terrain.

Also I think that other groups of people live on Cadia like maybe Valhallans will live there. The genetic differences from over 38,000 years would change different groups to look completely different with a varying array of facial features and physical characteristics. So yes you could have different planets represented on Cadia.

Yes, but to be a "Jungle Fighter", you have to be the best! No Cadian would be that good - they have no need to be!

No you cannot!

Cadians live on Cadia. No-one else. EVER. No Mordians, Valhallans, Tanith, nobody but Cadians.

Not exactly. I'd imagine that there's plenty of offworld regiments stationed on Cadia along with the locals.

Why in the depths of hell would there be? Other regiments have their own planets to attend to, not to mention how stupidly militarized Cadia is...

And besides, most people in the Imperium are kept in the dark that system to system travel is even feasible, if the guard stays on a planet other than its homeworld then it is either there to hold, take or await either the planet or a colonisation expedition.

Im sure there are lots of reasons why other regiments may be on the planet, maybe they have been sent to cadia for additional training against chaos as their planet has come under heavy chaos attack. Possibly the planet they are from have developed a new way of countering chaos and have been stationed on Cadia while the rest of the Cadians get up to scratch on how to defeat them.

The Cadian Gate, for the most part foreign regiments would be on Cadia rearming and resupplying between engagements in that region of space. As I've read it there are even several large Inquisitorial Stations in the "immediate" area.

As for the OP's questions... I have absolutely no idea how many active regiments Cadia has but considering how the entire system is a well oiled military machine I'd assume about 50 at any given time. (That is a buttload of active combat troops).

Also if the painting pages in the codex are any indication then yes the Cadia system sports Jungle fighters, Cav, Air Cav ect but I honestly think it's done more like the US Army. For example we have the 25th Division "Tropic Lightning" Jungle Warfare specialists and the 10th "Mountain" Division, the 25th while trained jungle fighters wouldn't even hold a candle to Catachans and the 10th spends plenty of time in the desert.

No, it entirely depends on where they live. Someone who lives on Cadia or Armageddon, for example, is definitely going to know that system travel is possible, whereas the barbarians that live on Fenris aren't.

Real men fight in tanks!
