Default Fluff Change

If you could change one thing in the fluff of either ANY army or the overall story, what would you change, and what would you change it to?

I would tone down the overall storyline, namely the Marine, Eldar, Necrons and Shadowsun, but also the other races to varying degrees so things are no longer about Marines being able to take Rail Guns to the side without blinking, enemy forces surrendering to 6 Marines, et al.

Change it down to where things are more or less at the same footing(you know, like in the game). One force can be more good than another, more evil than another, but for goodness sakes, no more Supermen exchanging their Red and Blue spandex for Blue Power Armor. I don't particularly care if the fluff is contradictory(it adds a sense of mystery, especially when written from varying viewpoints). Not necessarily a Right and Wrong viewpoint, but from the Tau, from the Eldar, from the Humans, etc... but that's getting off topic.

Marines can still be Bio-Engineered Uber-humans, but they're still that; human(not to harp on just them, there are a few others I want to tone down).

I'd remove the C'tan from the numerous plots they were forced into, as it really screwed with things.

And I'd bring back the squats, prob as demiurg, but a much bigger place in fluff.

I like the C'Tan. They're fun. The Old Ones too.

Personally? I'd put more fluff in the Forces Of Chaos and Tyranids. Make it a fact there are more 'Nids coming, or Give Tzeentch some real physical power outside the Warp.

Remove all C'tan and Old One references.

Do a lot of work with Chaos...

Stop making it look like the Tau are an all-conquering force.

Seconded.

I would also like to see more fluff when it comes to BFG and the navy in 40k, but thats just me. Theres already quite a bit, but not as much as I would like compared to the Space Marines and IG.

I don't know, I love the C'Tan.

Or maybe I just love their manly shiny godlike bodies.

ANYWAY, I agree that abit of restraint of Tau all-conquerness should be showed.

Giving my official board mod thumbs up to removing all Old one references.

Strip away any solid background the Necrons have. Including 99% of what was said about the Ctan.

Bring back all the creepy lovecraftian ancient hinted races that could make lunch out of entire Eldar fleets. Ctans will now be nothing more than a "queiscent peril beyond the gates of Varl".

Tone down Tau and Tyranid fluff by a lot.

Make the Squats die off in a more creative way. "Eaten by Tyranids" is indescribably lazy.

I'd like to see unified fluff. Stuff where almost everything fits together with everything else.
That, and give equal fluff representation to each game system. (40k, Epic, BFG, Necro, =][=)

Fill in the blanks already there. Is Farsight good or evil? What are the two unknown first founding SM chapters (I can see this being worked into the next campaign, an entire SM legion has been found, possibly in stasis, but then again, that would probably never happen. As an aside, I think the next campaign will involve all the armies trying to find the black library, with Eldar protecting it.), etc.

Or just start right from the begginning, scraping all fluff and redesigning it without the contradiction, but that ain't ever going to happen.
