Default Some questions on Chaos and others.

Just been pondering these, haven't found any straight answers.

1. What are standard weapons (comparatively) for a Chaos fleet?

2. How many other ways out of the Eye are there? Can the small Chaos warbands only leave through the Cadian gate? Can Chaos forces jump to the Maelstrom or smaller Warp Storms or something? Otherwise why guard something if the Traitor Legions can just pop up wherever?

3. Would equipment taken from the Horus Heresy contain some lost Standard Template Construct-derived technology? Or would the slow Technological advance have overtaken those of the Traitor Legions?

4. I've heard people talk about a Terminator aiding the Emperor on Horus' battle-barge. Is there a story behind this?

5. Do the Heretic Forge Worlds in the Eye (I've heard of a couple), while having the technique to make Lasguns, Imperial equipment, Leman Russ and Basilisk tanks, would they necessarily have more or less
technology or efficiency? In other words, would a Lasgun be modifed with different materials and a better scope or something? There would likely be hundreds of variations on Heretical Daemonworlds, but fluffwise would they be better or worse?

Thanks for any answers.

1. Standard weapons will be the same as Imperial, however, thye may be different marks etc. So a cruiser may mount a mk9 Macro Cannon Battery (WB) or a Starfire pattern Lance Array.
Main weapons will be WB's, Lances, Plasma Torpedo and boarding Torps.
Other Ordanace includes Dreadclaw Assault Boats, Doomlord bombers and the fighters, which I can't remember.

2. There are a few ways out, other than the cadian gate, although that is the main. Another includes the planet Perlictor? Something like that, see WD. Iron Warrior vs Black Legion Batrep, tells you all about it.

3. All Imperial Technology is derived from STC base, as is the Chaos tech that is not warp based, or the defiler/other daemon engines.

4. There are many stories about this - originally it was a guardsman, Olanius Pious, then an Imperial Fists Terminator, but in current, retconned fluff, no one aids him I believe, and this is the cannon at the time being.

5. They would probably be worse, using slave labour, appaling health and safety etc, however, the can also use the power of the warp to do stuff, so it works out to be more or less equally efficient.

Chaos spacecraft favour long-range batteries and Lances. Unlike the "modern" Imperial ships, they make little use of torpedoes. Some craft do have them, however, mostly the Grand Cruiser classes.

The only "safe" route out of the Eye is via the Cadian Gate. Other ways do exist, but they are more fickle and tempremental.

No. The vehicles themselves contain no STC data. It is suggested in the Horus Heresy series that Horus obtained an STC, but I cannot confirm this.

There are various claims. We know Sanquinious fought Horus, and it is suggested the Emperor also witnessed Horus slaying Terminators, which is what made him realise Horus had turned completely. Very old material states that a Guardsman named Olanius Pious tried to battle Horus, though this is no-longer Canon.

Traitor Forgeworlds are about the same as Loyalist ones in terms of quality and quantity of output. That said, Chaos machines are much more bizarre and disturbing in their nature...

For a large period, the indication was that Horus was fighting a reserved Emperor, who was holding back and on the brink of total defeat, at this point a terminator enters the throne room from the back and tries to attack Horus, Horus utterly annihilates him before he even gets close, the Emperor at this moment realizes Horus' complete and utter loss of humanity and gathers the resolve to defeat him.
