Default The Imperiums Robot rebellion?

I've heard something on these forums about The Imperium having robots rebel against them, is this true? and if it is I would like to know some fluff, and if there is any books about it.

I don't know much about it, but I do know it has something to do with the reason that, 38,000 years in the future, we still use treads on our tanks.

I know veyr little but the so-called rorbiots were known as the Iron Men i think. Kind of a Terminator style rebellion.

Lol, Iron Men. In Ausstralia we have a triathlon competition called Iron Men, where people fight for the title Iron Man, so I can just imagine an army of Iron Men!

On a more serious note I have heard of this battle and isnt it the reson for the Imperiums lack of knowledge about their equiptment...

No, it's the reason that they don't make AI in the shape of the human mind. And the AdMech DOES know about their equipment. Well, most of it, anyways.

The war between Humanity and the Stone and Iron men is the reason that humanity does not innovate on the level that we used to. The Ad Mech is just a bunch of wanna be scientists that are doing a lot of things based entirely off of tradition. If humanity ever woke up there would be an explosion of technological advancement. Just like after the Dark Ages.

Bull. Wanna be scientists? The fact is, most of the AdMech Magos are masters in their field of study. Contrary to popular beleif, there most definitely is technological advancement. This does, however, get slowed by the beaurocratic sorts.

Care to explain why the lasgun has been the staple weapon of the Imperial Guard for thousands of years, and has seen no upgrade or enhancement during that time? Or why plasma guns still have the overload glitch, though they've been in service for millenia?

I don't think 'slowed' is strong enough a word. :

Because the Lasgun is fine as it is. It's a powerful weapon, and not to metion the pure logistics factor it has. It's easy to make, durable, powerful and has an almost unlimited ammo supply. The plama gun's meltdown is extremely rare, and doesn't warrant a change. The plasma it fires more than makes up for the rare loss of one guardsman.
