Default A couple of Inquisition questions.

I've started to play Inquisitor again, and have a few questions on how the Inquisition works, so bare with me.

1. Could a Space Marine ever become an Inquisitor?

2. Does the Inquisition ever use "Xenos Agents", I beleive I've read somewhere of a Kroot working of the =I=, but I'm not sure.

3. How exactly do the Ordos work, because with Eisenhorn, he's Xenos, but he has hunted down heretics, and practically banished a demon.

4. Are there any specific ranks? I know of Interrogator, Inquisitor, Lord Inquisitor, etc. but are there any others.

5. We all know Gaunt has the title of Colonel-Commissar, could an Inquisitor become a Colonel-Inquisitor in the IG?

6. And finally, what are Thorians?

I can field a few of these, but I'm not realy up to par on my Inquisitorial fluff.

No.

The Witchunters wouldn't most likely, the Daemonhunters on rare occasion... but I could see the Ordo Xenos doing it quite frequently.

I sincerely doubt it... Commissars serve alongside the Guard and have a strict rank structure to determine heirarchy. The Inquisition is a totally differnt ball game, it's like a CIA agent being 'promoted' from Field Office Chief to a three-star General of the Army.

Thorians are named after Sebastian Thor. They believe that the spirit of the Emperor has been partially or fully reincarnated in various worthy individuals throughout Imperial history (such as Sebastian Thor). They are dedicated to seeking out and protecting these individuals.

I might add a question of my own.

Inquisitors are always listed as living far beyond the normal lifespan (similar to a Space Marine). As Inquisitors AREN'T Space Marines, how does this work?

Rejuvenat therapy. A genetic process, from what I gather, where the cells are aged backwards, if that makes sense.

Since all the others are done,

3. Theres Ordo malleus (high order of the sacred hammer), Ordo hereticus (high order of the witch hunt(pretty sure of that)), and finally Ordo xenos (high order of extermination(one again not confirmed).

4.There acolyte, Inquistor, Lord Inquistor, then lords of offices.

I think he meant, that even though Eisenhorn was Xenos, he still hunted the daemon, and hammered the witch. I think they have a certain amount of crossover allowed, and it is even possible to switch orders (going by the eisenhorn/ravenor books).

If a Xenos Inquisitor is in a city and finds herasy/daemons, he still fights them, regardless.

And i would imagine that there are smaller ordos that combine them, or certain ordos dividing the major ones, like one i thought up the Ordo Xenos Skaviana (An ordo designed for hunting Hrud), Eisenhorn might be a part of an ordo that kills all of them.

Given the long travel times to all the out of the planets where most of the demon-summoning, alien worshiping, and chaos worshipping usually go on, the Inquisitors would have to be able to deal with all three, because it takes a while to fly in specialists. Often an inquisitor will have savants whom can supply the needed information, and in a pinch, make good cover.

Colonel/commissar Gaunt is different than an inquisitor. The Commissariat is comparable to the Soviet "Political Officers" and The KGB. The Commissars generally make sure orders are being adhered to while the Inquisitors/KGB would carry out special operations. Unlike the KGB Inquisitors can commandeer anything in the Imperium not under the direct control of a senior inquisitor. So Inquisitors could function as a sort of Inquisitor/Colonel, but would be officially called just plain Inquisitor, or Inquisitor Lord.

I disagree with Dra'Tuisich-Novae on the Space Marines could be an Inquisitor thing. It really depends on your definition of Space marine, Space Marine as in member of a SM chapter, of Space Marine as in a person who is genetically enhanced such as any given member of a Space Marine chapter. It is a fact that the Inquisition carries out genetic experiments on a regular basis. So it is possible that a High Inquisitor may discover a person of suitable faith and conviction that is the right age to accept SM implants, and have them undergo the process during their training as an Acolyte. If they survive then they may become an Inquisitor in their own right. It's pretty obvious being 3 meters tall with 70 cm biceps would be a definite plus in the Inquisition.

Man I use the words Inquisitor and Inquisition a lot in thos paragraphs

"And we shall know fear!"-honored battle cry of the SMs also known as Sissy Marines. The chapter was later declared Worthless Extrimis after crying when shot at by Orks in the chapters first engagment. In the AER (After Execution Review) Inquistor Exter said "It was just breaking my heart to see those grown marines cry."
