Default Size and Stature of The Emperor

Hey guys I have a question about the size and stature of the Emperor.

A gaming buddy insists that he was 'normal human' sized but I could have sworn that in some stories he was described as a giant. Also in all those times he met up with the Primarches how silly would it look for Papa Emperor to be hugging their leg.

This is actually a very stupid argument, but if you guys could give some info and cite some sources I'd really appreciate it.

I thought the Emporer and Primarchs were normal sized, I guess cause I never saw any pictures of them or read any stories about them that describe their size. After all if the Emporer was a giant how could he blend into human society for over 37 000 years?

I think he'd be a wee bit bigger than the average person...

Well if he's the God Emperor, then shouldn't he be able to change hs physique and looks just based on whim? If he's a god shouldn't he be ale to do something as simple as changing his looks?

Well he's not really a god he is just immensly powerful and wise, as he should be after living so long. I have no idea what the extent of his powers are, but he might possibly be able to change his appearance.

From what I've seen in the rulebook (pgs 136-137), The Emperor, while in his golden full body-massage armor, is larger than a pre-heresy space marine by quite a bit. As in, his head is bigger than their helmets. (Those spikey helmets are funny.... If he can control the Astronomican AFTER the fight with Horus, I'm guessing he can make himself a bit bigger or smaller if he wants to. "Mind over Matter".

The pecking order of size is Human, Marine, Primarch... and maybe the Emperor. I don't know if he is actually "bigger" than a Primarch, but he is at least the same size.

In terms of psychic power, the Emperor is unequalled. I think that he was more powerful than Eldrad... and Eldrad isn't exactly a weak Psyker!

In that painting of the Emperor vs Horus, Horus does seem to be quite a bit bigger than the Emperor, although it could just be the perspective or Horus being bigger due to his armour or exposure to Chaos.

But could that not be symbolic of the monumental task facing the Emperor?

Yep, always figured the picture was more interpretive, like something you'd see in an Ecclesiary temple..
