Default Zombies in 40k?

In the milky way, in 40k, are there any Zombie outbreaks? Me and a few friends want to start a short campaign called "Quarentine zone", about a small portion of space that's been quarentined because every planet had been plagued by zombies. Simple really, lol.

Very possible - during the 13th Black Crusade masses of Plague Zombies ravaged systems around the Eye of Terror. Parasites, symbiotic macroorganisms, warp-sorcery... all canidates.

Total aside - anyone seen that Stargate episode? Zombie with energy weapon & personal cloaking device? Eeek!

Aside from EoT, Zombie plagues have been reported all over the place, the most obvious being the Hives of Necromunda. I'd imagine any Hive world to be a likely candidate. There is of course no reason not to place your "Quarantine Zone" anywhere you like, within reason (within a few light years of Terra may be stretching things, for example). So how's this campaign system going to work, then? Sounds like it could be great. You'd better start buying up WFB plastic zombies, though.

There was a battle in "False Gods" where literally thousands of corpses rose from their swampy graves to assault the Sons of Horus who arrived to deal with the threat of a traitor. (This was on the moon of Davin), each with the strength to pull down an Astartes warrior.

They were possessed by Nurgle, but in essence they were still zombies, so yes, they can exist. They don't always, but they can be created.

Where do youv get these Zombies? I'm planning on buying a horde and making them a "minor" army for my friends,

they "reborn" from fallen SM's or IG's or just about any other race, so long as the Zombie killed that soldier.

There are no models for them, we are just discussing whether or not they exist in the 41st millenium.

EDIT: I stand corrected, as shown below by kasrkin. (Although I believe he was referring to actual 40K models, not sure though.)

There are models: both the Necromunda Plague Zombies, or the WFB plastic zombie regiment.

Our clubs gamesday board this year was based upon ripping off a film, we had Evil Residents, and bucketloads of zombies.

Which stargate episode is it where the zombie has a DEW and a cloak?

Well, I have never seen Zombies in the WarHammer 40k universe, but there are other Zombies(that I believe are boardgame zombies)

What is:"WFB"?
