A primarch that was lost? Think about it. The twin-tailed comet could have been his spaceship crashing down to the planet of Warhammer fantasy. I know that the whole idea that the fantasy planet was in the Eye of Terror, but, just think about it...

There is indeed many similiarities to the Saga of Sigmar and the stories of many primarchs.

Quite a few people subscribe to this theory. I used to belive in it but I hesitate to put to much faith in it. Mainly because it implies that Sigmar fell after he left the Warhammer world and turned to chaos (and was therefore expunged from imperial records) Personally I find this upsetting

Definitley some paralles there though

1- astromomical event portents his being found as a child
2- grows quickly and becomes a mighty warrior and charismatic leader who is able to rally everyone under his flag
3 - kicks a lot of ass, both ork and daemon
4 - randomly leaves one day with a promise to return, which he never keeps.

Sombody should make a Space Marine Sigmarite... Know what? I'm going to make a chapter known as the Gold Falcons, and make Sigmar be their anchient primarch, and the chapter's history is entirely clouded, like the Blood Ravens, and have no clue where their primarch is... Like a few space marines descend to the Warhamme rfantasy planet and take a few Humans up to their ships to train for this chapter, and soon it's known as "The Gold Sigmarites" and every 100 or so years a recruit ship flies down to the warhammer fantasy planet to kidnap some people for their chapter. Sounds odd but, good, bad, whatta ya think? :P

Also, for those who don't believe that 40K and Fantasy are parallel, there's an interesting story in the Liber Chaotica that is essentially an allegory of Slannesh waxing the Eldar.

Near the end.

The Liber Chaotica makes a very strong case for the two universes co-indicing (i.e. the warhammer world is in the 40k verse)

The newest rule book seems to point at this pretty strongly but not quite as explicitly as the Liber Chaotica.

However one interesting note is that IF the warhammer world is in the 40k verse and IF Sigmar was a primarch the two are not contemporary, unless one year in fantasy = 4 years in 40k.

The reason being in 40k all the primarchs were found BEFORE the Horus Heresy, which was ~10,000 years ago. So all the primarchs were found about ~11,000 years ago.

In fantasy the Imperial calendar is based on Sigmar's forging of the emire. The current calendar year in fantasy is ~2500. So that would put the Fantasy calendar, assuming one fantasy year is about the same as one standard 40k year at about the year M.31,000-M.32,000 in 40k.

Just an interesting note....

i think that some of the GW writers are parreleling the universe and others are not. that helps to explain why so much of the fluff is contradictory.

The timing doesn't work unless you assume that either the timeline around the Warhammer World is really screwed up or else the Old Ones survived the Enslaver Plague. The big tie between the timelines is Slaanesh. He/she/it exists in Fantasy, but Slaanesh was not created for eons after the fall of the Old Ones in 40k.

If I had to link them today, I would say that the Fantasy World was the last gasp of an enclave of Old Ones who survived the War in Heaven and created the Warhammer world in an isolate and warp-torn region of space as an experiment.

Well the big point is that the planet is covered in warp storms, so the time line between Fantasy and 40k might not be linear.

And it doesn't exactly say that all the Primarchs were founded, just that Alpharius was the last one found. So they could have stopped at 18, besides, it wasn't that long after Alpharius was found when the Heresy started, and after that they probably weren't looking for any new Primarchs.

* The Orks are the pinnacle of creation. For them, the great struggle is won. They have evolved a society which knows no stress or angst. Who are we to judge them? We Eldar who have failed, or the Humans, on the road to ruin in their turn. And why? Because we sought answers to questions that an Ork wouldn't even bother to ask! We see a culture that is strong and despise it as crude.
