Default Inquitistion Selection

I was wondering-how do Inquisitors select members to become Inquisitors? Is there a widely used method, or is it kind of however you want? Just wondering.

The Black ships go from world to world, collecting up all the psykers in the Imperium. They take them back and sort them =I= material and not. Those who are in the not column get soul bound.

However not all Inquisitors are psykers. I think pretty much an Inquisitor finds an interrogator on their travels. Some young individual they meet in their missions who shows promiss. If the Inquisitor thinks the individual could become a good Inquisitor they take them on as an Interrogator. Also it seems Inquisitors take on henchmen the same way. A person who has useful qualities the Inquisitor could order or ask to serve them.

Thats how it seems to work from the fluff I have read regarding Inquisitors. However there is also probably a more official method aswell.

A commissar (who had previously been a storm trooper, correct me if I'm wrong) could also become an inquisitor.

Thanks for the help. I was hoping to make an inquisitor that was a Adeptus Arbites Detective who was picked up by another Inquisitor and trained. Obviously all the detail will be worked out, but does the concept sound cool? I was hoping to have a more dark, sinister, sneaky Inquisitor rather than a noble puritan.

Accorting to the Arbites Book of Law (which seems about on) some, if not most detectives for the Arbites are from the P-college of the Adeptus.

To summarise, here is a list of every likely location I can think of:

1) Schola Progenium.
The Scholas churn out Battle-Priests, Arbites, Commissars and Stormtroopers, to name but a few, so it is not beyond the realms of possiblity that these doctrinated orphans could be snapped up by the Inquisition.

2) Black Ships.
As stated, a young Psyker may well be taken and moulded by the Inquisition to suit their purposes.

3) Impressing in the field.
At least some Acolytes are found by Inquisitors during mop-up. Tyrus is a prime example; he became an Acolyte after the Inquisition rescued him from a Witch-gone-possessed.

Of course, there are plenty of other ways... A young woman who manifests divine Psychic powers and blasts apart a hoard of mutant rebels might be nabbed by the Ordo Hereticus, for example.

mmmm also, someone from the inquisitors revenue could prove himself enough to become an interrogator, a few years (ok, maybe not a "few" alot is more like it) after that, blam, inquisitor

but yeah, blackships, or someone who is just too darn talented to pass up.

Yes I would imagine the Schola Progenium would be one of their cheif hunting grounds.
