Um...."Eldar"?

I'm not trying to be a funny. Usually if a name is foreign you just call it whatever the people who originally use it call it.

Example:

Mario. We don't try and make up a whole new name for a guy named Mario, we just call him Mario. We may pronouce it differently, but we still call it the same.

Not quite the same with tau. they call humans "gue'la" or "low ones" (rough translation) so I have no idea about them and Eldar.

Well, Deadman's got a point. Whereas you don't outright translate the name, most often times there's another word for it. For instance, the english surname Godfrey is Gottfried in German.

That being said, "Eldar" is the only thing that comes to mind.

Is the a word for "old" in Tau? That may suit Eldar.

Perhaps some translantion like "fast Shadows" or "hidden agile strike" (M'yen Kunas Ka) maybe. I have never seen the name in official fluff.

My version is Gue'Tais, an abbreviation of "Gue'T'nan'sha'is" meaning "Beings of Sword Wind".

This is used to refer to the "nice" Eldar. The Dark Eldar, are Nan'sha'is'Mont'au, meaning "Sword Wind Terror". This abbreviates to Nanont'au.

During Medusa V, Calmsword was trying to get the word "Ar'cea" accepted by GW as a Tau name for the Eldar (he was also trying to get "Mont'ray" approved as the word for Necrons).

wargamers seems sensible, the biel'tan craftworld is reffered to as the Swordwind so it makes sense, plus it sounds cool
