Chainsword. It's a chainsaw, but in sword form!

I dunno but i think a lightsaber would have the fallowing stats

 str ap range notes
 10(7) 2(3)   6  rending, mastercrafted,3d6 on armor pen. power weapon, armor save 3 when fired at

my reasoning comes from games ,movies, and books. for this i will only use the movies. unless necessary the i will use quote and list the source
str 10: in episode 1 the phantom menace we see qui gon jin start to cut though a door only stopped when the blast doors came down.

AP 2: the light saber has been seen cutting though droids,walkers, stormtrooper, other Jedi.

range 6: Darth Vader throws his light saber at Luke skywalker

Rending: do to the nature of this weapon when you hit critically there is no save see Darth Maul, Qui Gon Jin.

mastercrafted:you either hit or miss

3d6 on armor pen: cutting through star ship doors, walkers.

power weapon: as i under stand it there are no saves vs. power weapons

armor save 2 when fired at : as Jedi wear robes not armor ( except in I Jedi, and in starwars knights of the old republic 1 and 2, also Luke sky walker in starwars episode 4 a new hope is not a Jedi during this episode) and rely on the force to guide them to reflect or redirect ranged attacks away from them or at their attackers

Chainsword wins hands down.

Here's why: DooM.


Go play DooM online. The guy you're scared of is never the dude toting the rocket launcher, or that sweet super-shotgun, is the psycho who goes for the chainsaw. Chainsaws are nasty. Swords are nasty. Do the math.

Chainsaw = nasty. Sword = nasty. Chainsaw * Sword = Nasty * Nasty = Nasty[sup]2[/sup].

In short, you cannot equal the Chainsword for awesomeness.


Lightsabers, on the other hand, aren't that amazing. The idea of "energy swords" is really not that impressive anymore. Plus, as Anime teaches us, the Katana is way more powerful.

Light sabers dont have stats thier close combat weapons (power swords), not shooting weapoons. They dont have their own strength its entirely relative.LEARN THE GAME.

Ok, a chainsword has no advantages over a lightsaber whatso ever.

A chainsword wouldn't stand a chance. Move to block with the chainsword and BZZZT! You now have two halves of a chainsword. Lightsabers are lighter, more agile, cooler noises, faster, etc.

Chainswords have the coolness factor, scare factor, and overall awesomeness, but a lightsaber is more efficient, versatile, agile, and the power of a lightsaber could be compared to a Lascannon.

Lightsaber:Is there anything this cannot cut through, that is not energy related? Also, it would be much much lighter than a chainsword, and you can easily wield 2 at once.

Chainsword:Cool yes, but also bulky, limitations on what it can actually cut through, and in the basic sense it's only a chainsaw that looks like a sword.

You can have the chainsword in a fight if you wish, but generally it's not the person with the coolest toys that wins.

anyways, Chainswords are just like, really noisy, who doesnt like loud noises. plus Chainswords send blood flying all over the place, if it didnt we couldnt consier them as cool as we do.
