Default Codex: Mega Battle

So for fun I've decided to come up with something like "Codex:Megabattle" just to give some order to gigantic 40k games. I've never played one, and I know little about races outside Tau and IG. So I think I might need some assistance.

Heres what I've got so far:

The forces would be "Imperium", "Xenos", and "Tyrannids". I don't think the 'nids ally with anyone, seeing as they are powerful enough to attempt to take over the entire galaxy. For more friendly games 'nids are merged with Xenos.

-------
Imperium would be able to field any of the Imperial armies: Witch Hunters, Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Dameon Hunters

Restrictions:
You may not have more than one witch hunters army per mega-army.

You may only have one SM chapter per Guard force in your mega-army.

Each Chapter may take only 2 force slots.

Guard are fielded in 4 types: Infantry, Armoured, Super Heavy, fast attack,
--

Armoured uses the armoured fist codex, but doesn't have to spend doctrine points on restricted troops (gets automatically). May also be set up as an artillery squadron, with:

1 normal commander slot from the IG codex. No sentinel support.

2 Troops from the IG codex. May not be Armoured Fist.

8 Artillery squadrons which may be Griffin Mortar, Basilisk, or Manticore Missile System (not sure if that has rules but if it has FW rules its good with me).

-

Infantry regiments are made up as follows:

1 Normal commander slot from IG codex.

8 Troops choices.

2 elites choices (Karskins, Ogryns, Ratlings, Veterans only)

3 Fast attack choices

May be "Mechanized", adds Enginseers to choices.
-

Super Heavy regiments are made up of as follows:

1 command squad from the IG codex. May not choose Heavy Support options, but may choose 5 sentinel options if desired.

6 Super Heavy Options, i.e., Titans, Super Heavy Tanks. If a Gorgon transport is selected, may take one infantry platoon. May NOT exceed transport's capacity.

-

Fast Attack: Must be "mechanized" in Chimera.

1 command platoon. May only choose sentinel support.

8 Fast Attack options. May choose Salamander (sp?) Scout Vehicle.

2 Tanks or elites options. May not choose artillery. May only choose Enginseers, Veterans, or Stormtroopers for elites.

-----

Space Marines: Normal Options
Increased to 1 HQ, 9 troops, 5 elites, 5 heavy support, and 5 fast attack choices

-----

Witch Hunters/Daemon Hunters: Normal Options

Need help with above 2. PM me with ideas.

------
SUPREME IMPERIAL COMMANDER:

Each Imperial force MUST come with a Supreme Commander. You can either designate one of the force's commanders as supreme, or choose a commander from the options below.

-----
Supreme Commander: IG character. HSO profile. Followed by 5 guardsmen Retinue.

Also may be followed by: Commissar, Priest, Sanctioned Psyker,

If there are SM's in the army, may also be followed by a SM Commander and 5 SM's, librarians, etc. A witch hunter grants a likewise profile.

For Each Force in the Army, there must be one HQ representative.

------------

Xenos: These units function unlike the Imperium, in a more unorganized manner. They all use the following profiles:

1 Command

8 Troops

5 Elite

5 Fast Attack

5 Heavy support

2 Super Heavy

If an army has no super heavy units, they may exchange them for another slot.

Special Rule:
The Units gain from being fielded together- Every time 2 of the same race are fielded next to each other (with no other units in between), all their units gain one imitative.

--------

Tyrannids:
Same slot as Xenos, without the fielded together Special Rule.

---------

In conclusion, I'd like any suggestions you may have. I might get some special units or rules that may only be fielded in Mega Battles later.

What about Chaos?

Do you really think Necrons and Eldar would work together?

Tau and Dark Eldar?

True... The only thing, though, is that I can't have a bajillion Imperium against a single enemy race. (Xenos counts Chaos). It is assumed they work together against the greater threat of the Imperium, unless I can come up with something better. It just wouldn't be fair otherwise.

I suppose I could group them into three's, so that it would be somewhat like the Imperium. The thing is no matter what it'll be slanted against the xenos this way, with the imperium allied...

Races:

IG
SM
WH
DH

CSM
Tau
DE
Eldar
Orks
Necrons
'Nids
Traitor Guard (count them since you can then pair with the CSM)
--

Groupings: (not counting imperium)
CSM+DE+Traitor Guard
Tau+Eldar
'Nids
Necrons
Orks

The thing is I can't see the 'nids, necrons or Orks alling with anybody really...

I'm really not sure what you are saying. Obviously (to me, some people may differ), the Imperium won't ally with anyone else- they are big enough that they don't need to. Nor will the 'nids. Tau and Eldar seem to go together, and may actually compliment each other well in battle, but, besides them, there arnt't any oter alliances. The enemy force has to be big enough to deal with the Imperials, and, with only 2 races, can't.

I f you want large battle you could play epic. Also chaos are not beyond tricking people to fight for them look at DOW's campaign with them using orks.

Blood Axe Orks have been known to lend their services as mercenaries. Talking of which, where do Kroot mercs come under this ally system?
